Christchurch police are appealing for information after an aggravated robbery on Sunday.

A man entered a dairy on Lincoln road about 12.30 pm, pushing the shop attendant to the ground and stealing cigarettes.

The offender, wearing a dark-coloured wind-breaker jacket with the hood up, dark coloured trousers and black shoes.

He's believed to be between 20 and 30 years old and was carrying a blue bag with a yellow stripe on the front.

The shop attendant wasn't seriously injured.
