It's been revealed the Christchurch man accused of beating someone inside a strip club, has gang affiliations.
25-year-old Apirana Ngata has been remanded in custody after appearing in the Christchurch District Court today.
He's been charged in relation to a violent assault which happened inside the Calendar Girls night club on Sunday morning.
The 27-year-old victim is still in hospital.
Today in court, Ngata was supported in the public gallery by a group of five men, all with King Cobra tattoos, who nodded to him in greeting.
He'll reappear next Friday.
