A Christchurch lawyer has been suspended from practicing for six months, after being found guilty of unsatisfactory conduct.
Susan Barbara Lewis has been ordered to pay just over $9000 to the New Zealand Law Society, after filing a memorandum in court which contained incorrect information.
A disciplinary tribunal found Ms. Lewis's actions were misleading, and resulted in the court making an order which later had to be cancelled.
The memorandum dealt with parenting arrangements for a child.
The tribunal ruled Susan Lewis should have known better, after she had made similar mistakes in the past.
