An apparent drive-by shooting in South Dunedin is being called a targeted incident.
Police were called about 6 this morning after shots were fired at a Surrey Street house.
They're thought to have come from a passing vehicle.
A spokeswoman says police don't believe there's a wider risk to the public.
A Surrey St resident, who doesn't want to be named, says she was woken by four or five gunshots in quick succession.
At first, she thought it was fireworks.
