Christchurch police have arrested a 29-year-old man over a string of burglaries.

A number of stolen antiques and collectable items were found at a Hillsborough address yesterday after police conducted a search of the property. 

The address was previously searched in August, and police at the time found $100,000 worth of antiques. 

Police said that the elderly owner of some of the items was grateful for their return. 

They are reminding people to keep their doors locked, even when there are at a home, and ensure their vehicles and belongings are secure.

The man is charged with six counts of burglary and will appear in court next month.
