Police want witnesses to come forward, after two suspicious scrub fires in Christchurch's Port Hills last night.

The first fire was reported shortly after midnight near Worsleys Road.

The second was reported at 11:30pm near Summit Road.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in either area at the times of the fires.

They'll be increasing patrols in the Port Hills area to prevent this occurring again.
