One person has died after a crash involving a car and truck in Selwyn, Canterbury.
Police were called at 1.40pm to the collision on Main South Rd, between Tennyson St and Rolleston Drive.
The serious crash unit is on the scene, alongside St John. It is not known if the person died at the scene or was taken to hospital.Â
The road is closed and diversions will be in place.
Police have advised motorists to avoid the area.
It is the second two-vehicle crash towards. Earlier, a motorist died after a serious crash in Orewa.
One woman was found trapped in the crash involving two cars, and later died.
Two others have been taken to hospital as a precaution.
The Serious Crash Unit was in attendance, police said. They were in the process of notifying the woman's next of kin.
Emergency services also attended the scene serious crash north of Taumarunui. The incident occurred on State Highway 4 where a truck has reportedly crashed off the road into a paddock around 11.50am.
St John said two ambulances had been sent to the scene and one person was treated but "no transport was required".
