A scene examination will resume today at the site of a gas explosion in Christchurch.
Police worked alongside WorkSafe and Fire and Emergency investigators at the scene in Northwood yesterday.
Police have been maintaining a presence in the area overnight with twelve houses around Marble Court remaining behind the cordon.
A total of 21 homes have been damaged, with five facing possible demolition.
Nikolai Marinkovic lives about 150 metres from the house which exploded.
He says from the outside, houses on his street seem alright, but those on Marble Court are a "bit banged up".
"I do know some of the houses there have tarps over certain areas to prevent the water from coming in and such."
Marinkovic was evacuated on Friday, but says he and his family have since been let back in.
"Spend a bit time cleaning up after bits of broken glass here and there from stuff like clocks and light fittings falling off."
Of the six people injured in the explosion, one is in critical condition in Christchurch Hospital and one's been transferred to Middlemore Hospital.
Three more are stable and a sixth's been discharged.
