The victim of a four-hour kidnapping in Christchurch last year has described the alleged kidnappers as intimidating.
Kirsten Dale, Joseph Wealleans, Jamie Moka, Alicia King, Nathan Whelan and Liam Johnson face 16 charges of kidnapping and aggravated robbery in July 2018.
This afternoon Benjamin Watts told the High Court in Christchurch he arranged via an online app to meet a sex worker at her house.
It’s alleged when he arrived he was threatened by Kirsten Dale with a screw bit, Jamie Moka with a knife and Joseph Wealleans with a piece of wood.
He claims he was forced to smoke methamphetamine before Dale and Wealleans drove him to two ATMs to withdraw money.
The six defendants, who are represented collectively by 10 lawyers, all deny the charges.
