A worker owed thousands of dollars in lost wages says her former employer is operating under a third company name.

Canterbury-based building firm Welstruct has announced it's going into liquidation and sister-company Welhaus is winding down operations.

Kerry Oberholzer worked for both companies for about 11 months and is owed $12,000 in unpaid wages.

Oberholzer says sub contractors are owed hundreds of thousands of dollars.

“I just want my wages. I want what is owed to me, my holiday pay and unpaid wages.”

She says her former boss is now running Advance Web limited.

Oberholzer says he has been shut down and can't be liquidating two companies and still continuing to build and borrow money.

“The whole ordeal has been an absolute nightmare , its now causing me to lose sleep."
