Christchurch mosque victim says New Zealand yet to meet high promises

There are concerns the Government hasn't reached the high bar it set to help Mosque attack victims piece their lives back together.

New Zealand has been praised internationally for its response to the March 15 terror attacks - clamping down on semi-automatic weapons and establishing emergency visas for victim's family.

But victims say they're fed up with waiting for Immigration New Zealand to let their families in.

43-year-old Turkish national Temel Atacocugu was hit by nine bullets in the Al Noor Mosque.

He's told the New York Times he's now stuck on the couch most days, while he waits for his mother and nephew to join him.

Atacocugu says their visa applications were filed over a month ago, but there's been no word yet from Immigration New Zealand on when they will be let in.
