A Christchurch company has been fined $150,000 after a painter was injured in a workplace fall.

The injured contractor fell two metres from an incorrectly installed mobile scaffolding platform.

He sustained multiple fractures to his skull, face and ribs and major brain trauma.

Agility Building Solutions Limited had identified a fall from the scaffolding platform was a risk and noted it needed to be correctly installed.

It had no systems in place to ensure a pre-work check took place.

The company was fined in the Christchurch District court yesterday and ordered to pay reparation of just over $42,000.
