Audi's chief executive has been arrested over the emissions cheating scandal.
Parent company Volkswagen says Rupert Stadler has been arrested at his home, but stresses he's presumed innocent while his hearing continues.
Stadler's arrest comes days after Volkswagen was fined over the scandal.
A German judge has ordered he be remanded in custody to prevent him obstructing or hindering their investigation.
VW has pleaded guilty to criminal charges in the United States, where two managers face prison terms.
