ASB is urging businesses to remain positive and not buy in to alarmist doom-and-gloom commentary.
The latest ASB Quarterly Economic Forecast paints a relatively positive picture, with economic growth forecast to pick up to around three percent heading into 2019.
Chief Economist Nick Tuffley says, while global trade tensions remain a concern, it's important we don't talk ourselves into a slowdown.
"We are expecting growth to lift back up to a little over three percent as we are heading over 2019."
Tuffley says global trade tensions remain an ongoing concern.
"What we do see is a pretty solid export performance, export prices are very strong and the agriculture sector has rebounded after it got knocked around a bit from the weather."
