The pride march will be sponsor free.
Auckland Pride has released fresh details on the event, officially confirming there will no longer be a parade.
Turbulence hit the parade when plans were announced to ban uniformed police officers from marching in the event - which saw key sponsors pull support.
Auckland pride chair Cissy Rock says they're relying on the community passion and donations.
"So far there's been quite a ripple of excitement. There's been a lot of 'yay, I'll be there, because this is the first time in a long time that I feel like participating'."
She says they're focusing on the community and are not looking to reproduce the parade.
Rock says they had to go with a format that worked within the time frame and financial constraints they were under.
The march will begin at Albert Park, go up Queen Street and into Aotea Square.
