Telefonica's error costs them in-port race

By: Guy Heveldt | Latest Yachting News | Sunday April 22 2012 8:51

A critical error from overall Volvo Ocean Race leader Telefonica has cost them victory in the in-port race in Brazil.

Telefonica failed to round the correct fourth mark, dropping them from the lead to last of the fleet.

French syndicate Groupama has won the race, taking the maximum six points with Camper Team New Zealand finishing 48 seconds back in second.
