Angry tennis player injures official

By: Radio Sport staff | Latest Tennis News | Monday June 18 2012 6:57

Argentine David Nalbandian has publicly apologised to the official he injured during an angry outburst in the final of the Queen's Club grasscourt tennis tournament in London.

Nalbandian was defaulted by the ATP supervisor after he violently kicked a court side advertising sign, resulting in a linesman's left shin being badly cut midway through the second set.

The South American was leading Croatian sixth seed Marin Cilic 7-6 3-4 at the time.

Meanwhile 34 year old German Tommy Haas has stunned Roger Federer 7-6, 6-4 to win the Halle tournament in Germany.
