Kenyan wins Rotorua half marathon

A couple of 42-year-olds have won the men's and women's titles at the Rotorua marathon.

Phil Costley has won men's race, 15 years after first winning the event, while Liza Hunter-Galvan has won the women's race in two hours and 46 minutes.

Costley's won his third title in a time of two hours, 28 minutes and 25 seconds, having fought off a determined challenge from Blair McWhirter over the last ten kilometres.

Kenyan Kip Kemei has won the Rotorua half marathon in a time of one hour, six minutes and 31 seconds.

Stephen Lett has finished second, ahead of Jonny McKee.

Rebecca Forlong has won the women's half.

The marathon will finish around midday.
