Herbert defends multiple coaching jobs

By: Nick Walker | Latest Football News | Saturday June 16 2012 16:16

All Whites coach Ricki Herbert's tired of ongoing criticism over having multiple jobs.

Not for the first time, Herbert being coach of the All Whites, the Phoenix and the Under 23's has been called into question.

Former All White Danny Hay believes he can't do justice to all three.

Herbert says he's sick of outsiders telling him he can't do it.

He says it's bizarre that people with no knowledge of what goes into each role can criticise the work he does.

Herbert believes he's built up a lot of goodwill in the position.

"I think there is a strong component to say it took 28 years to get a team back to the world cup, let alone go to the world cup and be undefeated. There's been a lot of credibility built up that's probably supporting the current situation."
