Ireland playing down injuries

By: Nick Walker | Latest Rugby News | Wednesday June 13 2012 8:58

Ireland is adamant their apparent injury concerns aren't as bad as they appear ahead of the second test against the All Blacks on Saturday.

A bunch of players have sat out training, though at this stage second-five Keith Earls is the only man who'll definitely miss the game.

Assistant coach Gert Smal says it's far from a perfect preparation.

"It is not ideal, obviously going into big test matches like these but I think it's quite important we have them fresh."

Smal says they need to be sensible with what they demand of players after a year long season.

Ireland travel to Christchurch today, and will name their side tomorrow.
