Weepu recommits to the Blues

| Latest Rugby News | Saturday July 21 2012 13:54

Piri Weepu has recommitted to the Blues.

The All Blacks halfback has announced he's re-signed with the Auckland-based Super Rugby franchise after an unsettled first year.

Speaking to Tony Veitch, incoming Blues coach Sir John Kirwan has welcomed the news.

"I'm really excited about working with him 'cause he's a world class, x-factor halfback, and you need that to win."

Sir John says he's yet to talk to Weepu, but he's sure he'll learn from the mistakes he made this season when he joined the side overweight.
