Chiefs know higher level of play is required

By: Nigel Yalden | Latest Rugby News | Friday May 25 2012 18:31

The Chiefs are feeling the need to elevate their game as Super Rugby heads towards the sharp end of the season.

The New Zealand conference leaders face a tough run home including tonight's match against the Bulls, followed by the other four New Zealand teams.

First-five Aaron Cruden says the players sense what's ahead.

"It is the crunch time of the competition now and where we are at the moment we're not happy with. We know we can be a lot better and that's what we're going to be striving for over the next couple of weeks is really putting in the quality performances we know we're capable of."

Tonight's match at Waikato Stadium kicks off at 7.35pm.
