All Black trio out of Crusaders

By: Nick Walker | Latest Rugby News | Wednesday June 27 2012 21:44

None of the Crusaders injured All Black trio have overcome their woes in time for Saturday's Super Rugby encounter with the Hurricanes in Christchurch.

Dan Carter was earlier ruled out with a hamstring tear, and Kieran Read and Israel Dagg have failed to shrug off concussion and ankle complaints respectively.

Richie McCaw will start at number eight for the second week running, following his All Black debut at the back of the scrum, with Matt Todd and George Whitelock on the sides.

Ben Franks slots straight into the front row in his return from All Black duty, keeping brother Owen on the bench.

Other All Blacks in the lineup are Luke Romano, Sam Whitelock and Zac Guildford, while Tom Taylor will wear the number 10 jersey in Carter's absence.

Sean Maitland drops back to fullback for Dagg, with Tom Marshall also out injured.
