The Warriors have claimed a much-needed win, downing the North Queensland Cowboys 35-18 at Mount Smart Stadium. The home side scored four first half tries to lead 22-12 at the break, before the Cowboys closed the gap to just four points 12 minutes into the second spell. Tries to Nathan Friend and Lewis Brown inside the final quarter hour and a field goal to James Maloney secured the win. Forward Feleti Mateo says the return of Friend from a broken jaw was crucial. He says Friend can steer the team around and knows what the team needs. Photo: Photosport |
