Abercrombie set to start for Breakers

By: Nick Walker | Latest Basketball News | Thursday April 19 2012 17:55

Tom Abercrombie's set to start for the Sky City Breakers in game two of the ANBL grand final series in Perth tomorrow night.

The influential swingman's been cleared to play after coming through a fitness test before the team flew out this afternoon.

A decision on what role Abercrombie plays will be made tomorrow morning, but assistant coach Dean Vickerman says it's best if they keep him warm.

"We'd rather probably throw him out there and just see how he is right after the warm up and while he's warmed up, rather than have him sit back down again and cool down again. So if he's right to go after shoot around then definitely intention that he may get straight out there."

The team's currently in the air on the eight hour plane ride to Western Australia, which is five hours behind New Zealand.

Guard Daryl Corletto says the flight and time difference don't affect the side.

"Not really, it's one of those things. We get in there, we've got a job to do, our physio's got some plans for us to go for a walk and stuff like that but it's just, really it's another game and we'll stick to the routine."

Vickerman says Dillon Boucher, Gary Wilkinson and Dion Prewster will all be back to full health after falling sick earlier in the week.
