Heat hold on to level finals

By: Nick Walker | Latest Basketball News | Friday June 15 2012 18:24

The Miami Heat have resisted a second half surge from the Oklahoma City Thunder to level the NBA finals series 1-1.

The Heat led by as many as 17 in the first half, but held on for a 100-96 victory in game two in Oklahoma.

Coach Erik Spoelstra says both teams have shown they'll punish the slightest of errors.

"We didn't think we played well in game one and we still had an opportunity to win. This is going to be a very competitive series. We're confident going home, but that doesn't guarantee anything and I think our guys have enough perspective to know that we're going to have to earn this."

Game three is in Miami on Monday.
