| Lower North Island News | Wednesday August 29 2012 21:36

Fire fighters are battling a large boat fire in Lyttleton.

The fire service was alerted just before 6pm that a 60m boat at the port was well ablaze.

It is in the dry dock on Godley Quay.

Fire service Shift Manager Riwai Grace says with the size of the fire it was all hands on deck.

"We have brigades from Lyttleton, Christchurch, Governor's Bay, Wainoni, Sumner, New Brighton and Christchurch and Addington."
