Man arrested after woman severely beaten

A man has been arrested after a Christchurch woman was severely beaten in her Linwood home.

The 41-year-old remains in a critical condition in Christchurch Hospital after the alleged incident early yesterday morning.

The man appears in court this morning, facing one charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
