Police are looking into how almost $60,000 worth of coins was lost on a street in suburban Christchurch this morning.
Two painters found the pellet load of coins, totalling $58,088, in lots of little bags spilled on Rossall Street in Merivale.
It's believed they came from vending machines in Invercargill.
Police spokesman Stephen Hill says they're looking into the incident.
