Plans for $40m Chch hospitality precinct advancing

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Christchurch News | Wednesday August 29 2012 10:47

The construction of the Christchurch City's hospitality precinct should get underway next year.

The brief for the $40 million restaurant and bar area on Oxford Terrace are being put together by developer Antony Gough, before a team of up to half a dozen architects draw up the plans.

Mr Gough says he will present the plans to CERA in October.

He says the area, to be known as The Terrace, is looking really exciting.

"There will probably about seven bars along there, similar to the number that was there before but quite a lot different in that we would see two-storey bar restaurants along there, hopefully with open top decks so you can have dine-in bars upstairs."

Mr Gough says he's sourcing inspiration from all around the country for the types of establishments he will build.
