Sex offender pleads guilty to more charges

A Christchurch man serving preventive detention for sexual offending has pleaded guilty to further charges in court this morning.

Warren Johnston is in Rolleston Prison for sex offences against young boys during the 1970s.

His criminal history includes more than 30 offences on boys under the age of 12.

The 64 year old today admitted four charges of rape and indecent assault on a girl under the age of 12.

The offences occurred between 1978 and 1980 in Alexandra in Central Otago.

Warren Johnston will be sentenced in July.
