Former councillor vows to run naked

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Christchurch News | Friday May 11 2012 15:48

A former Environment Canterbury councillor has vowed to run naked around Hagley Park if it's used for sporting facilities.

Earlier this week the Sport and Recreational Earthquake Leadership Group floated their ideas to use part of Hagley Park .

Jo Kane believes sporting organisations are using the earthquakes as an excuse to build on Hagley Park.

"That is decision making at its worst and it's time the community itself had its say, and yes I will run naked around the park because I'm a woman that keeps my word but I probably won't be alone."

Ms Kane says it's the community who should make the decisions, not sporting CEOs.
