Study launched into Auckland's skill shortages

By: Nina Burton | Latest Auckland News | Monday July 16 2012 7:51

The Committee for Auckland and Auckland Council are launching a study which looks into the skills shortage.

It's in a bid to become the world's most liveable city.

The study, 'Fuelling Our Economy', addresses the skills shortage from the perspective of employers and highlights the industries hardest hit.

Those areas are engineering, digital and ICT, food technology and food chemistry.

Auckland Council, along with the new Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment has identified addressing skills issues as a major strategic priority for Auckland if it's to support a vision of becoming the world's most liveable city.
