Most Kiwis would keep lotto win secret

By: Newstalk ZB staff | New Zealand News | Saturday August 4 2012 12:19

A survey shows most New Zealanders would keep a lottery win secret, and go back to work if they won.

As part of Lotto's 25th birthday, 2000 regular players have been asked what they'd do if they won a million dollars.

Only 16 percent said they'd stop work, and two percent said they'd tell everyone.

Nearly half said they'd only tell their immediate family, but 11 percent said they'd keep it to themselves.

And as for what they'd do with the money, most people say they'd pay off debt.
