$25k reward for information on missing man

By: Natasha Burling | New Zealand News | Monday June 11 2012 11:41

A $25,000 reward has been posted for any information on the whereabouts of West Coast man Hugh McAllister.

The last known contact with Mr McAllister was on January 21, 2010 at his workplace in Kumara.

Detective Paul Heathcote says Mr McAllister's family would just like some closure.

"It's not the sort of thing that Hugh would have done to deliberately disappear from the scene. He's close to his family and they have great concern for his whereabouts and what's occurred to him."

The reward may be divided up if more than one person offers information.

Detective Heathcote says it is another tool available to police.

He says any information will be treated in confidence and there'll be a reward if it reveals what's happened to Mr McAllister.

Anyone with information should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or use the form on crimestoppers-nz.org

People can also contact Nelson Police Station on (03) 546 3840.
