The nation's fastest oyster opener has held on to his title at the Bluff Oyster and Food Festival.

Keith Lovett of Bluff has won the competition for the ninth time, although he was slower this year than last, taking 2 minutes and 52 seconds to shuck 50 oysters.

In the women's section, Vic Pearsey made it three in a row by opening her 50 in three minutes and 25 seconds.
