Passers-by rescue man at Muriwai Beach

By: Jacqui Stanford | New Zealand News | Saturday August 4 2012 22:48

Passers-by have rescued a man who slipped on rocks and was knocked unconscious at Muriwai Beach on Auckland's west coast.

Two men saw the Russian man fall and ran and retrieved a rescue ring, which they threw out to him, then dragged him up the rocks.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter crew has taken the man to hospital with concussion and a broken femur.
