Diplomat thankful for NZ support after eye-loss

| International News | Friday April 27 2012 10:52

A British diplomat has thanked New Zealand for its support after he lost sight in one eye in a violent attack.

Former British High Commissioner George Fergusson was attacked as he made his way to a dinner party in London last week.

He's undergone surgery and is making a good recovery.

In a statement issued today, Mr Fergusson says he and his family have been touched by the enormous number of messages of goodwill from Kiwis in New Zealand and around the world.

He says they appreciate the kindness and support at this time.
