Two in hospital after light plane crash

By: Blair Cunningham | Latest Emergency News | Wednesday April 25 2012 19:15

Two patients are still in Waikato Hospital's emergency department this evening following a light plane crash.

The light aircraft crashed after over-shooting the runway while landing at an aviation festival in Otorohanga this afternoon

Fire shift commander Paul Radden says the festival was being held at a private airfield.

He says fire crews had to help one passenger out of the plane and all three have minor injuries.

A hospital spokeswoman says two patients, aged 75 and 60, are still being assessed.
