Woman appears in court over Kathmandu thefts

| Latest Crime News | Thursday August 16 2012 18:35

A woman has appeared in the Wellington District Court charged in connection to three separate thefts at Kathmandu stores.

The thefts have taken place in Wellington and the Hutt Valley in recent days.

Police say a man and a woman entered the Kilbirnie store yesterday afternoon, where the man attempted to grab a number of puffer jackets.

But he was approached by the store manager and after a brief struggle the man took off empty handed.

Around half an hour later a man entered the Petone store, where he grabbed jackets and pointed a gun at the store manager when confronted.

Police say they're continuing to make enquiries in relation to the incidents and would like to hear from anyone with information.
