Man sentenced for domestic assaults

By: Adam Walker | Latest Crime News | Friday June 22 2012 16:50

A Taupo man's been sentenced to prison, for two domestic assaults, one of which left the victim so scared, she vomited.

Marty Durham was sentenced to three years nine months when he appeared in the Rotorua District Court after hitting his partner twice with a baby walker, breaking it over her head.

He then pushed her into their bedroom, where he pointed a loaded gun at her, pulling the trigger numerous times and telling her she's lucky the safety was on.

At that point she threw up out the window. She later got a restraining order against him.
