The Mexican government has teamed up with a street art youth organisation in an attempt to rehabilitate the town of Palmitas, in the Pachuca district. "Germen Crew" is a youth organisation known for using graffiti and street art as a means of expression. The group were asked by the Mexican government to paint over 200 houses in a colourful mural in a bid to unite the town of Palmitas. Alongside making the community look beautiful and vibrant, the project has reportedly been a tool of substantial social transformation and has created several jobs and lowered youth violence rates.
