And here we are again. 

Details are still emerging of the attack at Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport, two or three suicide bombers are thought to have opened fire on crowds at the entrance to the airport, before blowing themselves up.

The death toll is currently at 36, but authorities think it could go as high as 50. The word is that around 147 are injured.

With the details out of the way, what is there to say that hasn’t already been said?

Is it ISIS? We don’t know yet. If it is them, does it change much? Not really.

As a global community we still need to rid ourselves of ISIS, we did before the attack, and we still do now. 

But also, maybe after this attack we need to look at why so many people are being radicalised, why so many people are comfortable with the idea of blowing themselves up, and killing so many people in the process. Following on from that, if ‘The West’, and our interactions with the Middle East are a contributing factor.

This was a terrorist attack on a Muslim country - 98% of Turkey is Muslim. So this puts an end to the commonly held belief that ISIS & their ilk are fighting a war on behalf of Islam, against The West. That it is Islam against Western society.

Of course it’s not, it never has been, and this is just another to add to the list of countless attacks extremists have made against Muslims.

Extremists from any group are deranged, mad men and women, fighting a war against modern society - East, West, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or Jedi, today just proves that.

And if following today a few people realise that, if a few people realise its not a fight of ‘Us’, & ‘Them’, them being Islam and the Muslim world, then that has got to be a positive.
