More than 50 out of control League fans have been arrested in Auckland, after missiles were thrown at police in Otahuhu.

Last night's after-party turned ugly as revelers let off fireworks near a gas station and blocked an ambulance answering a 111 call.

But fan Christina Fifita doesn't believe it's as bad as police are saying.

She told Tony Veitch people were just harmlessly celebrating a huge win for the Tongan community.

"The majority of Tongans are just wanting to be happy. If you saw the people it was mainly older ladies, younger kids, just standing on the side of the road waving their flags. I know [there are] stupid ones but it's a very small minority."
