Jennifer Ward-Lealand, one of New Zealand's best-known actors, has had a glittering career in directing, writing, and performing. Most recently, she has been giving back to the theatre community as a teacher.
Now, she's playing a huge part in this year's Napier Art Deco festival.Â
She says spending five weeks in Napier has given her a lovely sense of the community, having only ever toured around the Hawke's Bay for a few days at a time.
Jennifer has devoted much of her time in Napier to directing Madame Butterfly, as part of the Art Deco festival, as well as starring in Falling in Love Again - a play about screen goddess, Marlene Dietrich.
