NICI WICKES: Food

Blueberry & raspberry clafoutis Clafoutis (cla-foo -tee), the much celebrated French dessert, is so simple to put together and you can use any fruit really but I’m fond of using blueberries for their gentle flavour and health-giving properties paired with the tartness of a raspberry and scenting the custard with plenty of vanilla for good measure. It’s a gentle pudding in my view, not too rich, yet perfectly satisfying and gluten free too.

The recipe is on our website but for more inspiration visit  http://www.niciwickes.com/  or her Facebook pagehttps://www.facebook.com/#!/niciwickes

LYNDA HALLINAN: Gardening

Autumn is just round the corner and it brings a whole lot of new changes to your garden, like dew in the morning! So it’s good to keep an eye on your concrete paths and patios for moss build-up.

But don’t be fooled by the wet grass in the morning, because you’ll still need to water your garden.

ANDREW DICKENS: Music

Ryan Adams 'Prisoner' - Andrew's verdict: 7/10

So, it was refreshing to hear a well made pop rock record. Clear and plaintive with tasteful guitar solos and rhythmic guitar chords that remind me of Tom Petty.  He’s a sad monkey but this is a good solid record that would sound great on a long road trip.
