Mike Hosking: How long are we going to keep punishing David Warner?
Channel 9 are facing criticism after hiring David Warner.
This is this dip into human nature, so David Warner and his mate, I think, have been picked to play T20 cricket in Canada of all places, they have got a new IPL type tournament going on there.
But anyway, he's been hired for Saturday's one day international against England and there is hell to pay because David Warner is enemy number one, he's a crook, he's a nasty piece of work, he needs to be punished forever and I am often fascinated because he got his punishment, he did something wrong, he apologised for it and he received his punishment for it and his punishment is, he's been dropped from the Australian team and all the subsequent consequences that go with that.
Now, we can't seem to let that go, we can't seem to just go well you made a mistake, you got caught and you got punished that should be the end of it, let's draw a line in that.
We need to keep punishing people forever and he can't possibly ever work again and the moment anybody ever hires him there is all hell to pay.
Why can't we seem to let people get on with their lives for goodness sake? If we can't let people make a mistake and get back from it then they are destined for what?
To be a criminal forever.
