Charlie Gard's parents have called time on their fight to give him experimental treatment.

Their decision means their baby boy won't survive to his first birthday in just a couple of weeks.

Charlie was born with an extremely rare condition and he can't see, hear, move or breathe on his own.

His parents were fighting earlier court rulings that he should be allowed to die with dignity.

Now they have said they have made their most difficult decision.. and it's to stop.

LBC's Vincent McAiviney told Mike Hosking there was a lot of emotion in court.

"Their lawyer, Grant Alexander, stood up and for a confident court performer, his voice was cracking and he said the parents have taken the difficult decision to withdraw their application to take Charlie to America."
