One of the warnings that came out of the pay equity claims for aged care workers, is starting to hit home.

It has led to a rise in rest home fees for residents, but the Government's $2 billion settlement only covers that fee for those who receive a Government subsidy.

A third of rest home residents with assets over $224,000 aren't covered.

Aged Care Association CEO Simon Wallace told Mike Hosking the issue here is the speed with which the change has been implemented.
