TOP party representative Sean Plunket has called for exit polls to be banned on election day.
It's not the first time after an election that a ban on polls has occurred so as to not influence voter's minds.
Mr Plunket pointed to the "farce" of Labour changing their tax policies based on the poll results two weeks before the election, which could have changed some people's minds who advance voted.
He told Mike Hosking political parties shouldn't have the opportunity to do that.
"Polling on who people are going to vote for changes the outcome of an election because of how our minds work and because of the way the average New Zealander votes."
